Building a house and making it a home should be fun and we’ve really been able to enjoy the process. We thought it would be helpful to share our house and home inspiration with other people like you, dear Readers! Pinterest has been the best tool ever to plan out all our options from paint colours to fixtures to fabrics and more. It’s also a great tool to keep you on track! As you search online for pillows, throws, area rugs and other textiles you can get carried away with products you like; but, not all will fit with your overall vision, especially if you have eclectic taste. Referring back to my Pinterest vision boards is helping me eliminate the choices that don’t fit and it’s making it easy to find the product again (and at the best price) once we’re ready to purchase.
For now, I’ll be keeping some of my Pinterest vision boards private; but, I’m sharing below some of the photos that have inspired us on our home building adventure.

These are fabrics I’m currently exploring…
Djuna – Mist
Fabric possibility for Roman Shades and Drapery shown here.
Interstate – Powder Blue
We may possibly coordinate Roman Shades in this colour and pattern to go with patterned drapery and bench cushions.

Window Seat Cushions
Reading nook or sunbathing spot for our Chocolate Lab, with a cozy tufted window seat & decorative pillows.

Love this!
A splash of colour from Designer, Marcie Bronkar, to inspire custom covers for accent pillows and throws on couches, chairs and window seats.
Interstate – Surf
Seaside inspired fabric for Roman Shades shown here.
Linen Roman Shades
Also considering options in Linen fabric in neutral colours like Flax, Linen, Stone, and Sand.

Window Seat Decor
Exploring a coordinating detail on the side of our window seat cushions. Which one would Choco Lab, Poppy, love?!

Pillows & Accents
Fun, cozy fabrics from Designer, Seema Krish, to inspire custom covers for accent pillows on the window seats.
I hope you’re enjoying our house and home inspiration. For me, this entire journey has really perked up my creative spirit. I’m already planning to brush up on my sewing (gotta purchase a sewing machine), embroidery, and flower pressing skills. I see some cool creative projects just around the corner once we get moved in and I’ll be sharing video and more from the blog.
As of tomorrow, we’ll be finalizing our landscaping plans so stay tuned for more on that. We’re only 5 weeks away from a move-in date!
