What’s in the Garden?

I love to have freshly cut flowers arranged in vases around the house year round. But I also like the idea of creating little bouquets to give to friends, family, and neighbours, right from my own garden. So even though we’re getting a late start in the garden this year; I decided to go ahead and plant seeds in the container gardens anyways. We’ll wait and see what happens.

We’re getting a lot of beautiful sunny days so hopefully in another 3 to 4 weeks, I’ll be posting beautiful photos of flowers in full bloom.

Here’s what’s in the garden:

First, my favourites…

Think of all the nice bouquets I can make with these seeds from Westcoast Seeds…

I planted the Cosmos and Alyssum as companion flowers in the veggie containers to attract pollinators and beneficial insects. I especially like the addition of Dwarf Purple Alyssum because the colour has such depth and will look so pretty!

Now, for the hardest part — keep it watered just enough and wait for it to grow.

Zinnia

Z for Zinnias, pink or red;
See them in the flower-bed,
Copper, orange, all aglow,
Making such a stately show.
